Add text captions and subtitles to animated GIFs

About GIF Caption

Add text captions and subtitles to animated GIFs — the text appears on every frame, processed in your browser.

How to use GIF Caption

  1. 1Upload an animated GIF via drag-and-drop or the file picker.
  2. 2Type your caption text in the input field.
  3. 3Choose the text position (top, center, or bottom of the GIF).
  4. 4Customize font size, font family, text color, and background style.
  5. 5Preview the result on the first frame, then click "Apply to all frames".
  6. 6Download the captioned GIF.

Tips

  • A semi-transparent black background behind text improves readability on busy GIFs.
  • Keep captions short — GIFs are usually small, so long text becomes unreadable.
  • Starter+ unlocks custom fonts, per-frame captions, and drop shadow effects.

Free vs paid limits

Free: basic fonts and styles. Starter+: custom fonts, per-frame captions, drop shadow.
