About Sort Lines
Sort lines of text alphabetically, numerically, or randomly — all processed in your browser.
How to use Sort Lines
- 1Paste your text with one item per line into the input area.
- 2Choose a sort order: A→Z, Z→A, Numeric, Random, or Reverse.
- 3Toggle 'Case sensitive' to control whether uppercase and lowercase letters are sorted separately.
- 4Enable 'Remove blank lines' or 'Remove duplicates' for cleaner output.
- 5Copy the sorted result or download it as a .txt file.
Tips
- Numeric sort handles numbers correctly — '2' comes before '10', unlike alphabetical sort.
- Random sort is perfect for shuffling quiz questions or randomizing lists.
- Combine 'Remove blank lines' and 'Remove duplicates' to get a clean, unique, sorted list in one step.
