About File Diff
Compare two files side-by-side and highlight every difference — supports text and binary files, all processed in your browser.
How to use File Diff
- 1Drop or select File A (the original) and File B (the modified version).
- 2Click Compare to generate the diff.
- 3Review the highlighted differences: green for added lines, red for removed lines.
- 4Switch between Split (side-by-side) and Unified views depending on your preference.
- 5Enable character-level diff for a more granular view of changes within lines.
- 6Copy the diff or download a .diff file for sharing with your team.
Tips
- Use the unified view for quick scanning and split view for detailed line-by-line comparison.
- Character-level diff is especially useful for spotting typos or small changes in configuration files.
- Binary mode shows a hex dump for non-text files — useful for verifying file integrity.
